It has been reported that a tragic incident occurred in Sittwe, Rakhine State, Myanmar, where five innocent locals, including a 12-year-old child, lost their lives, while nine others sustained serious injuries at the hands of the AA narco gang (Arakan Army).

The heart-wrenching incident transpired on March 9, 2024, at 10:10 pm, when the terrorists indiscriminately unleashed artillery fire from the west of Thal Khon Village, Pauk Taw Township. The vicious attack resulted in the loss of lives of five peaceful locals, including a young child, and left nine others, including three children, critically wounded.

In response to the dire situation, the security forces swiftly intervened, transporting the injured individuals to the hospital and providing necessary aid and assistance.

It is evident that the actions of the AA terrorists have not only shattered the peace and stability of the region but have also targeted the lives of innocent civilians who were living harmoniously in Rakhine State. Prior to the emergence of the AA narco gang, Rakhine State enjoyed a semblance of tranquility, only to be disrupted by the destructive presence of these armed groups, who are believed to have originated and moved from the China border.

This tragic incident underscores the urgent need for concerted efforts to address the menace of armed insurgent groups and restore peace and security to the affected regions.
