Fighting ease in North East as torrential rain inundate a major refugee camp

The new phase of fighting in Myanmar civil war since the Northern Alliance opposition forces launched an offensive on 27 October, was showing sign of ease as torrential rain turn the battlefields to become muddy terrain. The refugee camp at Chinese border post BP125 near the surrounded city of Lauk Kai with 30,000 Internally Displaced Peoples are facing flood and shortages of food and medicine.
The opposition Northern Alliance Forces are said to attack Nam Kham city, northern most part of the war theatre which is defended by Junta allied militias. The Junta army’s massive column of reinforcement from Mandalay toward the encircle Lauk Kai city are said to arrived half way city of Kyauk Me on 18 November evening.
The Kayah State capital of Loi kaw is still being contested with exchange of heavy raillery fire. There are unconfirmed reports about civilian causalities.
There are no major development in other area of the country with all the cities captured by the opposition forces except those in the Rakhine State are still under the firm grip of various allied forces.
