NLD-PDF hitmen executed a militia leader in public at WenTwin, upper Myanmar and upload video on social media
Yangon (17 February 2024)
Tragic assassination of a prominent leader of the Myanmar government allied people’s militia added the tolls of over 7000 political murder after 2001 coup. Nan Da Kyaw, who served as the leader of the people’s militia in Wen Twin Township, Mandalay, was shot and killed at approximately 9 a.m. on 17 February while at a local tea shop while off-duty on plain cloth in Wen Twin Town. The murder was claimed responsible by local opposition militia PDF/WTRF.
The hitmen responsible for this act belong to the so-called Wen Twin Revolution Force (WTRF), a faction affiliated with the People’s Defense Force (PDF) terrorists which is the armed wing of deposed NLD party formed after controversial 2020 General Election. The video footage uploaded to social media by the hit-squad described the crime scene where the terrorists repeatedly shooting the victim’s head with pistol and threatened the onlookers, asserting, “Look at him, and he will die like this if you are a militia.”
It’s imperative to recognize that this heinous attack is emblematic of the pervasive threat posed by various PDF terrorist groups operating throughout Myanmar. These groups, many of whom are supported and funded by entities such as the National Unity Government (NUG-the political wing of NLD party) and other exile organizations, continue to sow fear and chaos within the country.
