Myanmar’s Education System Perseveres: 6.4 Million Students Enroll for 2024-25 Amidst Challenge
Yangon Myanmar (04/06/2024)
It has been reported that 6.4 million students have enrolled in Myanmar for the 2024-25 school term. The Education Department has provided free textbooks and stationery for all students, as well as uniforms for primary school students. Parents and guardians are actively enrolling their children, and the authorities are offering necessary assistance to ensure their comfort.
Enrollment is still open for students who are late for various reasons. The Myanmar government is emphasizing the importance of education and is committed to keeping all schools and universities open despite disturbances from various terrorist groups such as the PDF (People Defense Force0 and NUG (National Unity Government). These groups have been conducting a campaign called “Quit from the School,” aiming to disrupt the administration and create instability in the country by targeting government employees, including teachers and other staff from the Education Department.
Despite these efforts, the majority of government employees, including teachers, doctors, and engineers from various sectors, do not support the terrorist activities of the NUG and PDF.
