MNDAA Threatens Demolition: Burman Road Residents in Northern Shan State Face Dire Situation?
12 March 2024
It has come to our attention that the Myanmar National Democracy Alliance Army (MNDAA), a terrorist gang, is issuing forceful threats to demolish the Burman Road area in the Northern Shan State of Myanmar. This location is predominantly inhabited by the Burmese population. The announcement stipulates that locals must evacuate their residences within a three-day period.
Burman Road, situated in Lauk Kai city, fell under illegal occupation by MNDAA terrorists following a fierce attack against security forces. This area houses essential establishments such as medicine shops, restaurants, clothing stores, stationery shops, gold shops, and various others that have been part of the Burmese community for an extended period. Disturbingly, the locals are compelled to relocate due to the imminent threat posed by MNDAA terrorists, who have demonstrated a willingness to destroy everything in their path, including religious monuments such as Buddha images.
The affected area comprises more than 60 shops, some of which are owned by Chinese nationals. The local populace is currently grappling with the repercussions of MNDAA’s occupation, which commenced in October 2023. It is important to note that the MNDAA gang was founded by Pung Jiasheng, a notorious drug lord, and is presently led by his son, Pheung Daxun. The situation is causing significant distress among the local residents, prompting urgent attention and intervention to address the escalating threats and disruptions caused by the MNDAA activities.
