Rising Corn Export Volumes from Myanmar: Navigating Challenges for Economic Stability

There has been a notable increase in corn export volume from Myanmar via water routes. The export volume has surged to nearly 900,000 tons during the last fiscal year, spanning from April to the present. The majority of these exports are directed towards Thailand and the Philippines. Despite Myanmar’s eligibility for tax-free exporting to Thailand, land-based exportation is hindered by ongoing conflicts in the region.
