Civilians murdered in Bago and Mandalay Divisions, Myanmar
In an unfortunate incident in Bago Division, Myanmar, the Civil Administration Officer, U Than Naing (54 years), and his wife, Daw Khin Htwe Myint (59 years), residents of Yay Tar Shay Village in Oak Pho Township, were fatally shot by PDF terrorists at their home around 7 am on December 28, 2023. Simultaneously, in Mandalay Division, another innocent civilian, U Aye Myint (41 years), faced a brutal attack by 12 PDF terrorists.
U Aye Myint was bound and gagged in his home around 10 am and subsequently stabbed to death on the roadside. These acts of violence have deeply affected the community, prompting a response from the police and security forces who are actively working to apprehend the perpetrators responsible for these heinous crimes.
The incidents highlight the need for increased vigilance and efforts to address the security challenges in the region. Our thoughts are with the families affected by these tragic events.
