The opposition USDP party member assassinated and party office bombed by the PDF rebels

The Kachin ethnic KIA and their ally PDF rebels executed U Chan Daung Lwan who is the former member of the Union Solidarity Party USDP Kachin State Waing Maw township Central Executive Committee on 10 December afternoon.
The witnesses said that armed KIA/PDF men raided the victim’s house in Labang village around 1 PM, pulled him out to the street and shot him fatally in the face.
In separate development, the assailants set off IED explosives at the USDP party office in Yangon division, Hlaing Tharyar township on 11 December around 2 PM. There is no causality report apart from structural damage of the building.
The PDF allied group called Dark Shadow and the GOD Urban Revolution Force claimed responsivity for setting Improvised Explosive Devices remotely. The Dar Shadow is the same assassin group which claimed responsibilities about setting IED explosion in Waterzonic EDM music show on 9 December at Tarmwe township, Yangon.
The USDP is main opposition party in Myanmar politics when Suu Kyi’s NLD party was in power in Myanmar on 2015-2020 period. After 2021 coup which is claimed by the military as to address the electoral fraud on November 2020 General Election held by the NLD. The Junta formed caretaker Government and promised reelection but the NLD party did not re-register under the Junta to contest and formed parallel Government called NUG, the parallel Government.
The NUG and its armed wing PDF declared any political party reregister under the Junta as well as any state employee who continue working for Junta or anyone who is leading a normal life as the collaborator of the Junta. The attacks on schools, hospitals, religious buildings, public gatherings and assassination of civilians are carried out by the NUG/PDF forces occurs daily in Myanmar with the civilian death tolls claimed by Junta on mid-2023 is 6700 since February 2021.
The United States Department of State reported on its ” 2022 Country Report on Terrorism” that Myanmar (Burma) ranked top 3 in the world on terrorism with 2130 fatalities and 50% of the terrorist attacks were perpetrated by PDF forces and the balance are carried out by its ethnic allies CDF and KNDF.
On December 1, the chairman of another opposition party NNDP was assassinated by the PDF in Yangon. The USDP party stated on May 15 2022 to BBC News in an exclusive interview that more than 1,500 USDP members and supporters had been killed in the assassinations by PDF assassins on the NLD/NUG’s struggle to restore the disputed the election results.
