Myanmar Military Supports Escapees from TNLA Forced Military Service
Yangon. 15.March, 2024
In Northern Shan State, Myanmar, the military regime has taken steps to support individuals who have escaped from forced military service under the influence of the TNLA (Ta’ang National Liberation Army) terrorist group.
Recently, four individuals who managed to escape from what they described as ‘hellholes’ have received financial assistance from the military regime. These individuals, who had been coerced into military training by the TNLA against their will, bravely fled from their forced military service.
Reports indicate that numerous ethnic youths have been forcibly conscripted by the TNLA for military training purposes. These local youths, unwilling participants in the TNLA’s activities, have sought to escape from their involuntary military obligations.
In a significant development, a ceremony was conducted in Lashio, Northern Shan State, Myanmar, on March 13, 2024, to transfer these escaped youths to the custody of their guardians. As part of this initiative, the government provided each escapee with financial support amounting to approximately 400,000Ks.”
